‘Music Moves Me’ Event June 6 to Raise Funds to Support Music Program
The Bellingham Public Schools Foundation, music educators from Bellingham Public Schools, parents, alumni, and friends in the music community will hold a musical instrument drive and fundraiser for the Ray Downey Band Fund from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 6 at Boundary Bay Brewery. This is a family-friendly event in the outdoor venue at Boundary Bay, 1107 Railroad Avenue in downtown Bellingham.Members of the community are invited to donate musical instruments that are no longer being used. Everything from brass to strings instruments will be accepted. These will be used by music students in Bellingham Public Schools.

All funds collected during the event will support additional instructors for 6th grade band classes in the first 8 to 10 weeks of the school year, fostering student progress on new instruments.This fund will honor longtime Bellingham-based musician Ray Downey.

Local bands will provide the entertainment with Sweet Invicta playing at 11: 15 a.m., The Naughty Blokes at 12:30 p.m. and Black Beast Revival at 2:15 p.m. High school bands and other acts will play during breaks and intermissions.
